Closure of Abbey Retreat House Glastonbury
Abbey Retreat House ceased trading on 27 December 2017 when the lease of Abbey House expired. Although the retreat operation ran successfully, the decision to close was made by the Abbey House Trustees as the costs associated with leasing, or buying, a suitable building elsewhere to carry on the functions of a retreat house were considered prohibitive.
The running of Abbey House itself has since reverted to its owners, Glastonbury Abbey, who will be making the ground floor of the House available for hire on a daily basis but there will not be any residential accommodation - those interested should contact Glastonbury Abbey on 01458 836119 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Trustees of Abbey House would like to thank all staff and trustees, past and present for their service. Their commitment has made Abbey House a special place of prayer, peace, hospitality and warm welcome for individuals and groups since it became a retreat house in 1931.
